When it comes to charity, even something wacky is meaningful.
'Groove 4 Good Dance-A-Thon' is a first-time fund-raising event organised by the Hong Kong Youth Arts Festival where you dance in the open air to raise money.
Dancers must pledge a minimum of $200 to be eligible to join in and dance as long as they can, with prizes passed out every 10 minutes. The event is being held at Chater Garden and will begin at noon on May 22 and run 10 hours. The money is being raised for the children and family services centre of the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children.
Prizes include MP3 players, watches and dinner vouchers, with the dancers who raise the most getting cool gadgets like laptops and i-Pods. The festival invites everyone - and CitySeen means everyone - to participate in the event because there will be no age or time restrictions. Dancers can enter as teams.
