MUSEUM CELEBRATION The annual International Museum Day is being celebrated tomorrow and Sunday. More than 30 museums from Guangdong province, Macau and Hong Kong will join hands to hold a two-day Museum Panorama from 10am to 6pm at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, The Panorama will feature educational booths, family activities, demonstrations and performances. Representative collections from more than 10 major museums will also be on display. All museums taking part in the event will be open free of charge for the public, except that some special exhibitions may charge admission fees. For details, visit http://hk.heritage.museum/ or call 2180 8188. A BEAUTIFUL TRAGEDY The drama students of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) will perform Phedre. Written by Jean Racine, the play is billed as one of the most beautiful tragedies of western theatre. Translated and directed by Tang Shu-wing, the story is about Phedre, a woman who reveals her hidden love for her step-son after being told that her husband has died in an adventure. But she is furiously refused and finds herself in great trouble when her husband returns. The Cantonese drama will be staged from Monday to May 21 at 7.45pm, with a matinee at 2.45pm on the last day, at the Studio Theatre of the HKAPA.
