One golden rule in showbiz is, if something is a hit, copy it. CitySeen heard recently that TVB is planning a new half-hour sitcom about four women living in a busy metropolis. Sounds oddly similar to Sex and the City. A local newspaper reported that TVB would be following in the footsteps of the US hit by broadcasting the 13 episodes of the new sitcom once a week, instead of the usual Monday-to-Friday broadcasts. CitySeen contacted TVB to confirm the report but a spokeswoman would neither confirm nor deny it. According to the report, the 'new' Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda will be portrayed (not necessarily in this order) by former Miss Asia title holders Christine Ng Wing-mei and Belinda Hamnett, and comedienne Yuen King-dan and bubbly actress Chan Yin-hang, the last two being stars of TVB's most recent sitcom, Virtues of Harmony. The recurring male character in the show will be played by star all-rounder Nat Chan Pak-cheung (pictured). The 46-year-old entertainer told the press he had not agreed to play the part - but he already has a team of stylists to prepare him for the role. Hmm! CitySeen wonders if Chan will play Carrie's 'great love' Mr Big, or her favourite plus-one gay friend, Stanford. Neither role seems very appropriate.
