Dell has dominated the personal computer market because of its high-volume, direct-distribution business, which has enabled it to lower prices and steal market share from competitors. This model has also been applied to other products, including MP3 players, printers, liquid-crystal display and plasma televisions, digital cameras and projectors. The Texas-based firm's latest projector, the 1100MP, is another affordable device. At $6,999, the 1100MP measures 251x213x101mm and weighs 2.2kg, which is less than many notebooks. It offers digital light processing technology and a light intensity of 1,400 Ansi lumens to optimise the appearance of films, games or broadcast sporting events. It automatically displays video in its native aspect ratio.
