The action, filed by Cinderella Lee Mee-yuk and Lee Tat-sing, children of the late Lee Koon, against Lau Yau-sun, the rider of the motorcycle involved in the incident, was settled before Mr Justice Jones after the parties agreed on the terms.
Lee Koon, a 53-year-old master of ceremony at a funeral parlour, was riding a bicycle along Chatham Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, on December 14, 1988, when he was knocked down by Mr Lau's motorcycle.
The plaintiffs claimed Mr Lau was negligent. He was convicted of careless driving on May 23, 1989.
