Hi-tech companies on the mainland have taken to using online games to test the IQs of job applicants. A Post colleague spotted one of these on a mainland website (pictured). The game involves a family, a murderous criminal, and his arresting officer. The object is to get all of them across the stream on a raft that can carry only two people at a time. You don't want the criminal to be anywhere near the children, while the parents seem to have marital problems of their own and can't trust each other. It gets very tricky, so the following rules apply: 'The father cannot stay with any of the daughters without their mother's presence. The mother cannot stay with any of the sons without their father's presence. The thief (striped shirt) cannot stay with any family member if the policeman is not there. Only the father, the mother and the policeman know how to operate the raft.' A version of the game is available at freeweb.siol.net/danej/riverIQGame.swf. Have fun!
