Losing FA Cup finalists Happy Valley sacked their coach after they were beaten by Sun Hei 2-1 in extra time yesterday. Chan Hung-ping, who had joined the club for a couple of seasons, paid the price for failing to win the club a single piece of silverware this season. Valley were the defending champions of both the FA Cup and Senior Shield but lost to Sun Hei in the final on both occasions. The club had already fired team manager Lim Fong Kee and assistant coach Cheng Wing-keung when they failed to clinch the first division league title after drawing 3-3 in their final game of the season against Kitchee last Wednesday. Club convener Koon Wing-yi said they would also conduct a summer clear-out of players after a disappointing season.
