Most Baptist College students enter the business world after graduation, with a
MORE than one in two Baptist College students join the business sector upon graduation, an increase of almost 20 per cent over 1990, a recent survey shows.
On the other hand, the number of students taking up careers in education and government has continued to drop for the past two years, with less than 30 per cent choosing to work in these fields.
These were some of the findings of the Hong Kong Baptist College's report on an employment survey of its 1992 graduates. The survey was conducted by the institution's Student Affairs Office's Careers and Counselling Service.
The recently released report interviewed about 750 graduates in full-time employment.
It found that the business sector continued to be the most popular, with 61.7 per cent of the graduates having devoted themselves to commerce and industry. The figure showed an increase of 3.8 per cent over 1991 and almost 18 per cent over 1990.
The teaching profession was the second most attractive career and absorbed 21 per cent of the graduates.
However, the number represented a 6.5 per cent decline over last year.
