Apple Computer, well known for its innovative software and creative hardware design, is making headway on a new front - price. Apple has made its widescreen flat-panel Cinema Displays more affordable. The 20-inch Cinema Display is now priced at $6,400, down from $7,900. Apple's local internet store ( www.apple.com/hongkongstore ) also shows the 23-inch and 30-inch high-definition Cinema Displays priced at $11,900 and $23,900, respectively. Coveted by creative professionals who want more screen and better colour performance, the Cinema Displays are all certified for display-based proofing. That means print professionals have the option to approve jobs for press production on screen without the need for hard-copy proofs.
