OUHK expands courses, campus
The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) has received a $40 million grant from the TS Kwok Foundation for its second phase campus extension.
It was the largest donation the university has received in a year. The new 12-storey premises can accommodate a maximum of 1,600 students, and will be built on the car park of its current Ho Man Tin campus.
It will feature 30 tutorial rooms, lecture halls, a library extension and science, computer and language laboratories.
Construction work will begin early next year and be completed towards the end of 2008.
'The OUHK is introducing more face-to-face programmes to give additional choice to adult learners and young people,' said president John Leong.
'We are expanding our full-time degree programmes substantially, and need a new building.'
