Fire Services divers were desperately searching last night for a 16-year-old boy who went missing while swimming with his classmates off the Pokfulam coast. The missing teen, Chan Kar-bun, went swimming with two classmates after school at about 4pm at Waterfall Bay, Aberdeen. All three are Form Three students at the Chong Yuet Ming Secondary School, which is about 200 metres from where they swam. About three hours later, when the two classmates were preparing to leave as it was getting dark, they called out but could not find their friend, who had been swimming alone in shallow water. 'We received an emergency call at 6.54pm. The caller reported that someone went missing in Waterfall Bay while swimming,' a police spokesman said. 'The two classmates said the boy told them that he did not swim very well, so he only swam alone in shallow water, while the two classmates swam to deeper water. However, when they swam back, they only found the boy's clothes but could not see the boy anymore.' The boys called their friend's family and emergency services. Police were quick to arrive on the scene. Divers from the Fire Services Department were deployed to search for the boy. A government helicopter also joined the search. Police said the boy was swimming in his underpants when he went missing.
