For dozens of executives from Hong Kong and Macau, there's no better excuse to take a mid-week break than a pro-am game of golf at the Macau Golf and Country Club, in the run-up to the Macau Open.
Six amateur golfers representing Westin Resort Macau spent the evening before the game being wined, dined and pampered. Champagne glasses were raised as guests such as Don Robinson of Disney and Steve Marcopoto of CNN met Macau business leaders Ken Gotfried of Galaxy Resort and Frank McFadden of Venetian Macau. The pouring rain and Macau's sky-high property prices were prime topics of conversation.
Joined by Thailand-based professional golfer Andrew Pitts and Venezuela's Gilberto Morales, the golf fanatics enjoyed a buffet. However, the golfers drank with restraint, since they had to wake up at 6am to prepare for the game. Other guests included John Ho of McDonald's, Susie Robinson of Menzies and Gary Chin of Wynn Resorts.
