The new range of glossy, black-and-silver liquid-crystal display (LCD) televisions from Samsung Electronics can transform plain living rooms into posh home cinemas. Available in 23-inch, 26-inch, 32-inch and 40-inch versions, each of the new LCD TVs features a contrast ratio of up to 3,000:1 with 10-bit digital signal processing for 3.2 billion colours. The TV also comes with a wide 170-degree viewing angle and 16:9 aspect ratio panel, with 1,366x768 pixel resolution. To fully realise the digital sound experience, the series employs SRS Labs' TruSurround XT sound system. To provide more choice for consumers, the series comes in 15-inch and 20-inch models with 4:3 aspect ratio panel. The LA20S51B (shown here) is $9,380. Users get three years' on-site warranty, including labour, parts and panel.
