Sandeep Sekhri, managing director of Dining Concepts (which has, among others, Olive, SoHo Spice and El Taco Loco) has opened Craft, near the group's Californian restaurant, Bizou, which opened two months ago. Craft has an open kitchen and features a custom-made, charcoal-fired grill made in the United States. The executive chef and co-owner is Canadian Chris Mark, who previously worked in California, Shanghai and at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Tokyo. The menu includes Dungeness crab Louis ($118), steak tartare with grilled toast ($88), onion soup gratin ($68), Boston clam chowder ($76), grilled king prawns ($210) and grilled meats and poultry (Australian lamb chops, $248, Canadian T-bone steak, $198, US game hen, $148) served with a choice of sauces (peppercorn, red wine-shallot, bearnaise, forest mushroom and garlic-herb). Desserts include Key lime pie ($58), profiteroles with chocolate sauce ($58) and caramelised apple pancake with vanilla ice cream ($58). Craft is at 20 Elgin Street, Central, tel: 2526 0999.
