Tee off in Malaysia
Find a golf partner and head for Malaysia, where a host of packages are available. Golf Travel is offering a three-day package to Kuala Lumpur with a stay at Genting Highlands Resort. Prices start at $2,530 a person, inclusive of green fees and golf cart rental for two rounds at the Awana Genting Golf Club. A'Famosa Resort in Malacca has a three-day, $2,580-per-person package which includes two rounds at the resort's golf course, one of the top 10 in Malaysia. Greenice Golf Tour is offering a four-day spa golf excursion to Sofitel Palm Golf and Spa Resort in Johor Bahru, with at least two rounds at either the Allamanda, Cempaka or Melati courses for $2,990 each. Another three- or four-day tour of Johor and you could play at the Tanjong Puteri Golf Resort, the Plantation, Village or Straits courses. A three-day option costs $2,490 a person.
Bangkok trio
Three Amari hotels in Bangkok are offering special rates and a bonus of 5,000 frequent flier miles with WorldHotels airline partners until the end of this year.
The Suite Bangkok Experience special rates are US$250 a night at the Amari Atrium Hotel and Amari Boulevard and US$300 a night at the five-star Amari Watergate Hotel.
The 568-room Amari Atrium on New Petchburi Road, is close to the underground railway, is renowned for its striking 12-storey atrium.
