Estee Lauder has signed actress Gwyneth Paltrow to represent the brand's fragrances and makeup collections. The first campaign of her multi-year contract will mark the 10th anniversary of Pleasures scent, with print and television ads to begin in summer. Paltrow joins actress Liz Hurley and models Liya Kebede and Carolyn Murphy, who represent the brand in other categories. Lauder has also released its new Take It Away makeup remover collection, which includes a lightweight cleansing oil ($215/200ml) to remove long-wearing makeup, remover towelettes ($190/45 towelettes) for women on the move, and eye and lip makeup removers ($160/100ml) in a liquid form that can also take off waterproof mascara. The company says all the products have been tested by dermatologists and are non-allergenic. Available from Estee Lauder boutiques in IFC, Festival Walk and New Town Plaza malls. Nina Ricci has released a French Riviera spring-summer makeup collection in shades of apricot, coppery gold and sandy beige. The colour co-ordinates powder can be a blush, but also an eyeshadow ($300). This comes in two colours: apricot and a slight copper tint. The Golden Touch powder ($340) can be applied to the face or body to give a golden, shimmery effect. For eyes, the Double End eye pencil (limited edition at $135) has a pearlised tip that can be used as kohl liner or eye-shadow. At the other end, there's a shimmer for creating a golden line around the eye. The Plush Mono eye shadow ($240) is either a beige enhanced with silver or a copper honey tone and can be applied with a brush or fingers. Gloss Effect Lipwear ($175) with SPF15 comes in bare gloss, orange, coral and fuchsia. Tender Lacquered Lipglaze ($155) is either a transparent red for fair skin or faded rose for bronzed skin. Chanel's new Contraste Lumiere makeup is a limited-edition palette (below) that combines six iridescent shades for lips, cheeks or brow bones to either catch the light or add sparkle. Chanel says to apply it to the eyelids with the brush or dab it onto cheekbones with fingertips. Colours range from coral red to anise green, light purple, silver grey, brown and beige.
