ACTION FIGURE AND COMIC EXHIBITION The Hybrid Child, an exhibition featuring action figures and original comic books by Canadian-born designer Casey Lau, runs until June 15 at the Fringe Club. Lau has designed consumer products for companies such as Disney and Warner Bros. In 2002, he started Hyperchild Workshop, a collective of aspiring artists and designers. The group create and develop new entertainment products such as toys and vinyl action figures. The exhibition showcases Lau's latest collection of meticulously detailed robot figures. STUDENT BAND FESTIVAL Eight bands from seven local universities will belt out their original songs at the U-Sound Festival tonight. The bands kick off at 9.30pm at the Hard Rock Cafe. U-Sound Festival is an annual musical event for university students to showcase their musical know-how. Budding bands will perform in a wide range of musical styles from acoustic to rock.
