Six people appeared in Kowloon City Court yesterday charged with posing as live-in tenants at premises at Reclamation Street, Yau Ma Tei, an Urban Renewal Authority development project, with a view to making false claims for compensation totalling $612,000. Chan Wai-kuen, 31, Au Mui, 55, Wong Pui-ning, 54, Lee Chi-keung, 55, So Yau-chung, 49, each pleaded not guilty to one count of attempted fraud. Lam Chor-wah, 40, denied three similar charges. Magistrate Ernest Lin adjourned Chan's case to July 25. The remaining five defendants had their cases adjourned until July 19. All were released on bail.
