AS THE DELTA Asia Financial Group enters its eighth decade, it has adopted a new blue and orange logo for its wealth management services division. The design is reminiscent of both a financial chart and a bird in flight, representing the division's soaring ambitions as well as the security proper wealth management can provide. 'It symbolises both taking off for tomorrow and also the freedom of not having to worry,' said Au Lai-chong, head of sales and marketing at the Delta Asia Financial Group. An advertising campaign has been under way since April. Focusing on image building and the group's new services, it has been running mostly in Macau, where Delta Asia started its operations in the mid-1930s. 'As a group, we try to be innovative,' Ms Au said. 'Although we are 70 years old, we are still very innovative and creative.' Another campaign focusing on the group's wealth management services will be launched at the end of this month and will run until the end of the year. 'Wealth management is getting more competitive so we have to offer added-value services to the public,' Ms Au said. 'The campaign will be targeted at existing clients and potential clients. We want to build up a trusting relationship with them. We are someone they can trust. We always have their best interests at heart.' Considering the group's focus on personalised service, the campaign has been designed to focus on both the tangible and the intangible side of the group's relationship with both its existing and potential clients. 'We are going to offer a variety of activities to build a relationship with them,' Ms Au said. 'It is important we develop the intangible side of the relationship, as well.' A series of investment seminars will educate existing and potential clients about various investment options as well as the group's services. The final seminar of the year will provide a forecast of market trends for 2006. Other activities, such as cocktail parties, wine-tasting seminars and movie nights, will also be staged. The group's annual Diwali party, which is held each October, has proved a perennial favourite with its Indian clients. 'We try to offer lifestyle events that fit our target market's preferences,' Ms Au said. In addition to wealth management, the Delta Asia Financial Group offers insurance, commercial banking and investment banking services in Hong Kong and Macau.
