Riding high on the popularity of all things Korean, the Seoul Performing Arts Company will give two performances and a workshop about the country's folk dance and music this weekend.
Set up two decades ago, the troupe has performed at such events as the Seoul Olympics (1988) and the 2001 soccer World Cup. The programme features a wide range of dances, songs and music from different periods and of various styles.
The first half, The Beauty of Korea, is choreographed by Chae Sang-mook, and consists of traditional dances, including the taepyong-mu and whagwan-mu, which are court dances performed to entertain royalty and aristocrats.
