Maria Cordero (right) has shed some pounds and to keep it off she hikes when she has the time, she tells CitySeen. This Sunday at 10am, she will be keeping fit while taking steps to eradicate child hunger in this year's 'Fight Hunger: Walk the World' challenge, organised by TNT and the United Nations. An estimated 200,000 participants from almost 100 countries will 'walk the world' in 24 hours across 24 time zones. In our city, already more than 300 participants, mainly TNT Express Hong Kong employees and their families, have signed up to take part. Starting at the entrance of Po Lin Monastery, they will follow the 5km route up to the Big Buddha on Lantau Island. The event aims to raise US$2.5 million for Global School Feeding Programmes. If you want to join the walk, visit www.fighthunger.org and choose 'Hong Kong' for an online sign-up form and all the details. What a good way to walk off the hangover from Saturday night.
