Professor 'swapped exam papers for sex'
A 26-year-old graduate school applicant has reported her professor to the authorities in Beijing, accusing him of leaking state secrets by giving her copies of exam papers in return for sex.
The Haidian branch of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau has begun investigating the case filed by the prospective student of the Beijing Jiaotong University, according to the Beijing News.
Under mainland regulations on graduate student admission, the test papers, the answer papers and the evaluation instructions are classified as state secrets before the exams take place.
On the mainland, charges of leaking state secrets can cover disclosure of a wide range of information, including political news, because the government purposefully defines the term in an ambiguous way.
The student, referred to by the alias Ah Fang, claimed she went to the dormitory room of Ouyang Lin , the 51-year-old Beijing Jiaotong University liberal arts professor, on December 23 for a tutorial session.
After the professor allegedly told her: 'I've got what you want but everything comes with a price', she agreed to sleep with him in return for two papers and answers for the graduate school entrance exam for the 2005 academic year, the Beijing News said.
