Who: Tina Tan-Leo, the city-state's style maven and first lady of fashion. She opened the first Versace boutique outside of Italy, in Singapore in the 1980s. She was also the first person to bring luxury brands, such as Vera Wang, to Singapore.
Fashion finds: established designer names in addition to newer, cutting-edge labels, including Roberto Cavalli, Ashley Isham, Catherine Malandrino and Chloe. It also offers a formalwear service.
The vibe: the interior is classy, with warm colours, dark wood and soft lighting.
Local flavour: the Link recently hired its first Singaporean in-house designer, Sven Tan, winner of the 2004 Mercedes-Benz Asia Fashion Award, to work on a collection that will be sold exclusively in-store. It also features some of the best Asian designers and offers made-to-measure cheongsam and kwa services.
Extras: the Link Group also operates monobrand stores, including Vera Wang and Etro. Link Bridal stocks designer threads for brides and grooms, while Link Home (bottom) offers floral, home styling and gift registry services.
