TICKETS FOR DRAGON BOAT RACES

Free tickets for the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races 2005 are available from the district offices of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD).  Each person can obtain a pair of tickets on a first-come, first-served basis.

The competition will take place this weekend at the Tsim Sha Tsui East waterfront from 9am to 4pm.

The races include three categories - Open International Championship, Mixed International Championship and Women's International Championship.

CLASSIC TALE ABOUT CRUEL KING

The Faust Festival 2005 is presenting a drama, Shaharazad's Tale, the first story from the epic Arabian Nights.

The drama will be performed by storyteller Jeff Gere, who will use puppetry to recreate the classic tale.

The story is about King Shahryar - a man unhappy with  unfaithful women. He vows to have a new wife every night but executes them in the morning. This goes on until Shaharazad appears. Every night, she tells stories to the king, who is fascinated by her tales.

Shaharazad's Tale will be staged from today until Saturday at 7.30pm, with an additional show tomorrow at 10am, at the Fringe Club. Tickets cost $160 (adults), $130 (Fringe Club members) and $95 (students). Reservations from HK Ticketing at 31 288 288.
