FATHER'S DAY TREAT To celebrate Father's Day, the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong will present composer Howard Blake's Granpa and The Bear. The two heartwarming tales will be told through music and song. Granpa is an adaptation of John Burningham's 1984 children's book and animated film. It traces the adventures of Emily and her grandfather. The Bear is a tale of friendship between a young girl and a large polar bear. It is based on Raymond Brigg's storybook. Veteran comedian Jim Chim will narrate the stories in Cantonese. The performance will be staged on Sunday at 3pm at Tsuen Wan Town Hall Auditorium. Tickets are priced at $180, $120 and $80, with half-price concessions for students, and are available from Urbtix at 2734 9009. TAIWANESE TO ROCK HK Taiwanese singer Chang Cheng-yue and his band Free 9 will rock the Hong Kong Coliseum on Friday at 8.15pm. Better known as 'A-Yue' among his fans, the 30-year-old rocker is best known for his rebellious image and wild stage antics. Born in a Taiwanese fishing port, Chang picked up the guitar in secondary school and was a fan of many western rock bands. He landed his first recording contract at 17 after taking part in a singing contest. Tickets for the concert at $400, $300, $200 and $100 are available from Urbtix.
