INTERASIA Lines will introduce a service to Hong Kong as part of its Japan-Straits service this month.
The company also will increase the frequency of its Japan-Taiwan service from once a week to twice weekly.
It also has strengthened its presence in Singapore by setting up a joint-venture agency office.
At present, Interasia Lines provides weekly operations on the Japan-Straits service (Super Express Service) with three vessels with a TEU (20 ft equivalent unit) capacity of 1,200 units.
This service is provided in association with Wan Hai Lines and Malaysian International Shipping Corp.
The new port-of-call rotation is Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Kobe, Port Kelang, Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
On the Japan-Taiwan trade, the line serves Kanto in eastern Japan and Kansai in western Japan on a weekly basis by chartering slots on Wan Hai Lines ships.
