CUT CRYSTAL SUPPLIER Swarovski is presenting its trend vision for summer and spring 2006 at Asia's Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Fair. This is Swarovski's second trend forecast following last year's successful debut.
Local and overseas designers have been invited to present creations interpreting the five trend themes - Direkt, Liquid Sunshine, Acid Candy, Light and Shadow, and Grand Hotel. The designs will be exhibited in Swarovski's Crystallised Cosmos booth.
The Direkt theme features geometric shapes in metallic shades of blue, grey and amber to reflect the 'awakening of young and creative spirits intertwined with the flair of Eastern Europe and progressive Berlin'. Stones are faceted and angular in shades of white alabaster, padparadsha sapphire, black diamond, crystal metallic blue, emerald, crystal dorado and jet.
The Light and Shadow theme is understated elegance that inspires calm, balance and harmony, likened to a 'visit to an exclusive spa in the midst of a lodge in Africa'. Ethnic motifs are used to convey 'an orderly universe' and stone colours are a blend of alabaster, jet and shadowy amber.
The Liquid Sunshine theme screams of the rich tones of tropical fruit, sparkling seas and mesmerising sunsets, embodied in dangly jewellery, amulets and large brooches in trendy colours of light topaz, peachy pearl, fire opal, pacific opal, turquoise, light smoked topaz, copper pearl, jet nut and brown pearl.
The Acid Candy theme captures the innocence of childhood and redefines it with an adult edge, using neon colours and playful shapes. It features crystal embroidery in soft colours, and small and delicate shapes.
