ALL THREE DAUGHTERS of the Ho family study Kumon's programmes. The eldest sister Loretta Sin-ting Ho, aged 18, completed Kumon's mathematics and Chinese programmes. Christina Yee-ting, 14, completed the Chinese programme and is studying maths at Kumon. Veronica Sze-ting, 13, will soon complete the Chinese programme and is studying maths.

Both Christina and Veronica had advanced their levels of learning.

Mrs Ho said Kumon had advanced the learning skills of her daughters. 'Kumon's programmes are not related to school syllabus. The maths they are learning at Kumon is more advanced than what they learn at school. They find it more challenging and have more interest in doing maths.'

Veronica said studying at Kumon was fun. 'It is challenging. And, as I'd learned things before the school teaches them, I have clearer concepts on topics.'

Christina agreed with her younger sister. 'I enjoy studying at Kumon a lot. Studying here is different from studying maths at school. At school, teachers will provide you with solutions and examples. All they want you to do is to follow the formula. At Kumon, I have to try different methods and choose the best one to use. Solving the equations on my own makes studying maths much more fun.
