michael tien reappointed to education committee
KCRC chairman Michael Tien Puk-sun has been reappointed chairman of the Standing Committee on Language, Education and Research. New committee members have also been appointed for a two-year term from July 1.
Mr Tien has been the committee chairman since November 2000. New members include Aldrich Bay Government Primary School English teacher Ng Kit-chee and Fukien Secondary School Chinese-language panel member Wong Fung-yee.
New Urdu, nepali radio shows go live today
Commercial Radio is to launch two new programmes - Hong Kong-Pak This Evening and A Glimpse of Nepal in Urdu and Nepali in co-operation with the Home Affairs Bureau today.
Local personalities from the respective ethnic communities will talk about their cultural heritage and social inclusion. The programmes will also feature music, news, sport, current affairs and community services.
