Singer-actor Andy Lau Tak-wah's father is no stranger to the media. Lau Lai is a familiar face at his son's events, concerts and even fan club gatherings.
It's obvious that father and son share a strong bond. However, Lau recently revealed that, when he was younger, he often felt his father didn't love him as much as his other siblings because he was the third of five children. 'But two years ago, my father fell ill and had to stay in hospital. During that time we developed a deeper understanding of each other and our love for each other,' says the singer (pictured kneeling, left, with his father behind him, and fans). Lau always celebrates Father's Day with his dad but has given up buying presents for Lau snr.
'I've tried buying shirts before, but my father always had problems with them - either he complained about the sleeve length ... or the patterns. It's much easier to give him cash.'
Tomorrow's Father's Day will be no different: 'We'll have a nice meal and I'll give him lai see.'
