Refectory, a 'modern British' restaurant, opened at the end of last month in Central. The dishes sound tempting: the menu lists poached quail-egg salad with sauteed potatoes, black pudding and bacon ($70), roast suckling pig ($160), mint and lemon roast lamb ($160), braised beef and onion in stout ($150), apple and rhubarb crumble (below right; $50) and strawberry daiquiri syllabub ($50). There's a two-course set lunch (about $88) during the week, and on Sundays they serve an English breakfast, brunch and roast dinner. Refectory is at shops F and H, 45 Graham Street, Central, tel: 2525 2430.
