Remington Super 60's new album Happy As We Were, conjures images of spiralling colour dials - symbols from the 1960s and '70s. It is the second album from the Norwegian trio who founded the band in 1998. What sets the group apart from other bands is the fact that they record their music in a bedroom using US$30 software. But don't let this fact deter you from the CD. It is a spectacular blend of Casio, Yamaha and Hammond keyboards, acoustic guitars and a range of percussion instruments. Mellow, melodic and sophisticated, this relaxing album is ideal for all occasions. It has a range of tunes, from the sad Happy As I Am and She Makes Me Cry, to the happier rhythms of Dance to the Casio Beat and We Have a Friend. If you are a fan of '60s music or are a die-hard enthusiast of indie tunes, this CD will not disappoint. Others will find it a joyful introduction into the world of indie music.
