Ex-official accused of killing mistress

The former party secretary in Changning county, Yunnan province, has been detained for allegedly killing his mistress, Xinhua reported.

Yang Guoqu was having an affair with the woman, the news agency reported, quoting Yang Mingyou, a party official of Baoshan city . It is alleged that the pair argued last Tuesday and that Yang beat the woman to death. Yang surrendered to Baoshan police on Thursday, Xinhua reported, and had been stripped of his party position.
