SCMP Reporter

The last two episodes of The Gentle Crackdown will be aired on TVB Jade at 9pm tonight and tomorrow. A new drama, Misleading Track, begins on Wednesday. We will pick up the new drama next week.

Episode 19 (June 20)

Lau suspects that Fong is  the missing eunuch Siu Cheung Chi. Monk Pui Ti has not finished translating the scripture. Wong suggests visiting the site where the eunuchs were burnt to death to look for clues.  Lau digs up information on Fong's background and becomes even more suspicious. Lau suggests that Fong take a blood test to confirm his relationship with Kwan.

Wong and Ying go to the arson site and find a survivor, Yan, who proved that Fong is Siu Cheung Chi. Wong and Ying take Yan to the capital but he dies on the way. Hung, one of Fong's men, knows about the secret meeting and sees Yan's body. He goes to tell Fong but ends up being killed.

Lau's plan fails again and Fong accuses him of murdering Hung.

Wong, Ying and Mui want to leave the capital but they find out Monk Pui Ti has almost finished translating the scripture, with only four more lines to go.

Episode 20 (June 21)

Kwan asks Fong to kill Lau and Mui, but accidentally mentioned that the two had gone to see Monk Pui Ti.  Meanwhile,  the monk  has finally finished the translation and Ying discovers that the scripture is in fact a fascinating kung fu guide.

She suspects Fong killed Nam, Puk and Hung. With Ying's help, Lau manages to have Fong prosecuted.

The Bible is returned to the Emperor. Lau is promoted by ten ranks  and will be stationed in the capital. But he decides to go back to Leung Choi county to be together with Mui.

Lau runs into Kwan in a market and she tries to beat him up. Chuen arrives and gives Kwan a scolding.

Lau gets a warm welcome when he arrives in Leung Choi county. Sau and Liu ask where Wong is and are shocked to learn that he has decided to become a monk.

Liu is determined not to let that happen so she allows Wong to marry Sau.

On the double wedding day of Wong and Sau, and Lau and Mui, Lau fails to show up.

A furious Mui rushes to Lau's place only to find that he's been kidnapped . . .
