The Silver Nano Health System, an antibacterial technology developed by Samsung Electronics for home appliances such as washing machines, has made the leap to mobile handsets, with the new Anycall E628 tri-band camera phone. The clamshell phone has been coated with a layer of what Samsung calls 'silver nano ions' to protect users from disease-causing germs, mould and up to 650 kinds of bacteria. The feature is expected to appeal to hygiene-conscious, tech-savvy consumers. Apart from the health component, the E628 features a one-megapixel camera, a video recording function, 4x digital zoom, video wallpaper, a mobile web browser, 16 megabytes of memory and Bluetooth connectivity. It weighs 86.7.grams and measures 86 x 45 x 25 millimetres. The suggested retail price is $2,980.
