TEENAGERS who will be studying in Form Three and Form Four in the next academic year are encouraged to take part in a radio drama competition which will provide training in theatre production.
Viva Vivace! is jointly organised by RTHK Radio 4 and Swire Organisation for Youth Arts to promote Chinese scriptwriting among students.
Participants will attend a series of workshops and studio rehearsals led by professionals in the theatre and radio-broadcasting fields.
The programme is divided into two phases. The first phase will see 50 school teams, each comprising four students and a teacher, join a radio drama scriptwriting workshop next month.
After the teams submit their five-minute scripts, 15 schools will be shortlisted for more workshops which will include music and sound effects.
They will hand over their script - which will be 10 to 15 minutes long, including possible sound effects, by the end of November.
Five teams will be selected for the second phase. They will undergo further training in acting and producing a radio drama in February next year. They will attend studio rehearsals before the final competition on February 25 when they will perform before a live audience and judges.
