9 Old Bailey Street, Central Tel: 2140 6333 Open: 24 hours Cuisine: Western breakfasts. Ambience: The restaurant is outfitted as a fast food breakfast joint with bright lights and a relaxed atmosphere. Price: A breakfast meal is about $150 per person. Pros: The food is served in huge portions and the staff are friendly, efficient and eager to please. Many things on the menu come with a choice of side dishes, so we had a lot of fun deciding what to have with our main selection. Cons: The biggest drawback is that if you eat here often, your waistline will be affected. But there are healthy choices on the menu, including fruit cups, yogurt and cereal ($15-$25). Recommended dishes: We loved almost everything we ordered. We asked the waitress to add onion to our Ole omelette ($55), which already comes with avocado, salsa and sour cream. The omelette was absolutely delicious (although they could have gone easier on the sour cream). The eggs Norwegian ($65) is two eggs poached on an English muffin with hollandaise sauce and smoked salmon. The hollandaise sauce was a bit bland, but when combined with the salty salmon the whole dish was satisfying and delicious. We ordered the Lyonnaise potatoes and beans to go with the order. The 4x4x4 Monster ($100, right) is enormous. It comes with four eggs, four sides and four pieces of toast. For sides, we ordered grilled tomato, grits, green salad and beans. Everything had us smacking our lips except the grits and green salad, which were a little disappointing. There was no way we could have eaten the four pieces of toast between us, but sprinkling massive amounts of cinnamon sugar on them made it easier for us to gorge. A word of advice: Share the monster with a friend. What else? Drinks are reasonably priced. The waiter said only a few men have been able to finish the 4x4x4 Monster. Maybe you could be the next to challenge the monster.
