A crowd-pleaser at the CommunicAsia trade show last month, the new Sony Ericsson S600 swivel phone was designed to appeal to the unashamedly exhibitionist youth market. The tri-band GSM handset is packed with features that encourage users' creativity to share messages, pictures and other data. It comes with a Web browser, Bluetooth and infrared connection, 1.3-megapixel camera with 4x zoom, 1.8-inch display and QuickShare software. Its 64-megabyte memory means a user can download and store hundreds of games, movie clips, music videos and ring tones from operator networks. With its widescreen display mode, the S600 offers a console-like gaming experience. It also offers music-copying software and a Universal Serial Bus cable for fast transfers of music and images from a personal computer. The S600 is scheduled for release later in the year.
