CitySeen had a delightful surprise when we went to the Swarovski autumn/winter fashion show at the Convention and Exhibition Centre on Wednesday. At one point in the evening, giant drums were brought on stage and five young, attractive people, wearing tight, white outfits, emerged to deliver a captivating performance. They are part of a group called Nanta, which means 'crazy hitting' in Korean. Their English name is Cookin', which, according to their website, www.cookinworldwide.com , comes from turning all kinds of kitchen tools, including pots, pans, dishes and chopping boards, into percussion instruments. CitySeen bumped into them at the bar after their performance. When we asked if they had any anecdotes, they started gesturing towards the blisters and cuts on their hands and arms, exclaiming (because of their limited English): 'Oh my god! Oh my god!' According to their translator, they sometimes accidentally cut their fingers and arms in practising their act with knives. Oh my God, indeed.
