Ms Cheung's Monster is one of nine pieces by student teachers. She said the gorilla was dressed in the Lolita fashion, popular in Japan, in which young women dress up in girls' clothes. It also illustrated that 'deep inside all monsters' hearts is the desire to look pretty'. Ms Lam's installation is a giant version of a childhood game called till tai hui played with string, and Ms Tang's a mix of black and white Mickey Mouses questioning the Americanisation of culture and whether Disneyworld will boost the local economy. The show is at HKIEd art gallery until July 19 and then at the Gallery, Xinhua Bookcity, Wan Chai, from July 21 to 27.
