Fujitsu has upgraded its Lifebook S series notebook computers. All three models now boast AuthenTec TruePrint fingerprint recognition technology, SuperFine AntiGlare LCD screens, 533MHz of DDR2 memory and improved graphics performance. In addition, users can expect longer battery life and greater processing power thanks to Intel Centrino platform and Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG network connection. Heavy graphics users will also appreciate the inclusion of the Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 with DVMT 3.0, which Fujitsu claims delivers low-power, high-performance 2D/3D graphics, video and display capabilities at a maximum shared memory of 128MB. The LifeBook S6240 weighs only 1.65kg with built-in modular bay drive and 13.3-inch display. A media playback panel allows for convenient media functionality. The LifeBook S7000 series notebooks weigh only 1.75kg with built-in modular bay drive and 14-inch display. An optional Dual Layer DVD Super Multi Writer backs up important data on dual layer DVD media of up to 8.5GB.
The S6240 and S7021 have a recommended retail price from US$3,488, and the S7020 is US$5,888.
