DEMAND FOR large-sized accommodation has inspired the Wincome Group to redesign and combine small units in its serviced apartment development Central 88.
Gary Cheung Lai-wan, business development and operations manager at Wincome Management Consultants, which runs the property, said the upgrade was a response to a growing interest among tenants for more spacious apartments.
'We have recently upgraded and enlarged a number of units into spacious two-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 1,050 sq ft to 1,430 sq ft,' she said.
'The suites are tastefully furnished in a contemporary Chinese style with dark wood and fabrics in celadon with gold accents. Both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, and the second bedroom works well as a study too, making the suites ideal as home offices.'
Ms Cheung said tenants had a choice of an open kitchen or a traditional enclosed kitchen, while the living room featured equipment, such as wine coolers, plasma TVs, DVD players. Apartments also had washing machines and dryers.
'We are looking at a monthly rental of $45,000 to $60,000 for the renovated units. The tenants' comments on the newly designed two-bedroom units have been very positive. They like the increase in space and the idea of a separate dining area,' she said.
The serviced apartment building, at 88 Des Voeux, Central, enjoys a continuous flow of tenants.
