Stamps honour singing legends

1-MIN READ1-MIN

Hongkongers lost three of our best entertainers in the space of just 15 months. Veteran singer Roman Tam Pak-sin, 57, died from liver cancer in October 2002, singer/actor Leslie Cheung Kwok-wing committed suicide in April 2003, and diva Anita Mui Yim-fong (pictured below) lost her battle with cervical cancer in December the same year.

And in July 1993, rock band Beyond's lead singer, Wong Ka-kui, died of a cerebral haemorrhage. In October the same year, Canto-pop singer Danny Chan Pak-keung, 35, passed away after being in a coma for 17 months.

Hongkong Post is issuing a set of five stamps, envelopes and other postal paraphernalia featuring scenes from these stars' performances. The series is the first of its kind issued by the Hongkong Post. You can buy them at any post office from November 8, or you can order them before October 3.
