The Easy Busy Learning Centre in Sham Shui Po is on the lookout for people who love teaching children and want to create their own innovative courses. The centre's after-school courses are designed to train young children to enjoy learning, develop their creativity and use a multiple-intelligence approach to their regular school studies. Betty Li, the co-founder and director of the Easy Busy Learning Centre, said the new tutors would be required to conduct courses, prepare course plans and materials, and assess students' performance. 'Unlike most of the learning centres in Sham Shui Po, this learning centre does not provide tutorial courses,' Dr Li said. 'We create new courses that are attractive to young children, who then enjoy learning'. She said stress would be placed on the qualifications, experience and personality of applicants for the course tutor positions. 'The ideal candidate would be a student at, or graduate of, a tertiary educational institute in a relevant field,' she said. 'He or she should have classroom experience of teaching young children, must love to be with children, and must also be cheerful, creative, enthusiastic and patient.' Dr Li said the new course tutors would undergo intensive training. 'We work closely with course tutors in creating new courses, developing the academic curriculum, designing teaching materials and [establishing] teaching methods,' Dr Li said.
