Yoga disciples can sweat all they want now, thanks to Bella Chelli, the yoga products company that is bringing the Yogitoes Skidless towel to Hong Kong. The innovative micro-fibre towel has been causing a stir at gyms in the United States, where the likes of Tobey Maguire, and Kirsten Dunst use it to practise yoga without slipping on sweaty palms.
Susan Nichols, the instructor who devised Skidless, used her background in sportswear design and toy development to create the hygienic towel. It is available in two formats - a mat-sized version (61cm x 173cm; $450) and a hand towel (43cm x 66cm; $170).
One side has small grip-dots that prevent it from slipping off rubber mats. It can also be rolled up to become a meditation pillow or used dot-side up as a pressure-point stimulant for hands and feet.
The towel, which comes in a rainbow array of colours, including orange, green, navy and yellow, can be machine-washed after a sweaty workout. Best of all, you won't have to worry who's been sweating all over the yoga mat before you. How relaxing.
Skidless is available at Simply Yoga, 38 Russell Street, Soundwill Plaza, Causeway Bay, tel: 3154 9106.
