Updated at 4.12pm: Customs officers on Tuesday raided 13 hawker stalls and two shops at Yuen Street and Tung Choi Street in Mong Kok, Causeway Bay and Stanley, a spokesman said on Wednesday. About 1,800 counterfeit products, which were related to a well-known British soccer league, were seized. The seized products, including soccer T-shirts, caps, souvenirs and VCDs, were worth over $72,000. The spokesman said that three men and seven women, aged 28 to 59, were arrested. They are now on bail pending further investigations. A well-known British soccer league will be coming to Hong Kong next week for a match. The spokesman said that earlier this month, customs officers had approached the relevant trademark owner. They had pledged to closely monitor the market to combat a surge of counterfeit products. After extensive surveillance, officers conducted the operation on Tuesday.
