A 58-year-old man was slashed in the neck in an armed robbery yesterday afternoon in Tuen Mun.

The man was found lying motionless in a pool of blood on the second-floor staircase of a car park in the Tin King public housing estate at about 4.15pm.

The victim, identified by police only as Poon, was in a serious condition in Tuen Mun Hospital last night.

'The attacker wrapped a plastic bag around the victim's head and cut his neck as he struggled,' a police spokesman said.

Police said the attacker might have been trying to steal the victim's fake Rolex, which was found nearby with his empty wallet.

Police are hunting a man of medium build who is about 165cm tall.
