TOWERCREST HOLDINGS Group is looking for senior professionals in the hotel and real estate development businesses to manage its projects in China.
However, unlike many other companies in these sectors, Towercrest wants its new chief executives, chief financial officers and top operations executives to be based in Hong Kong rather than relocate to the mainland.
Group human resources manager Mona Yim said the recruitment drive was spurred by expansion of the company's mainland business from northern China to other parts of the country, including cities such as Guangzhou, Jinan and Huizhou.
Towercrest's recent projects include a major residential and commercial development in Guangzhou, hotels in Beijing and Shenyang and the 2.2 billion yuan Northeast World Trade Centre, also in Shenyang. When completed, the centre will be the tallest building in northeastern China.
The company originally planned to hire one person to oversee all its mainland projects, but found it difficult to find a candidate with comprehensive knowledge of the different markets. It decided, instead, to split the role and appoint people to run projects in individual cities.
Ms Yim said new recruits would be stationed in Hong Kong but should expect to travel frequently to the mainland. She said more top executives would be hired as, and when, other projects were secured.
