Plunge case

Ng Wai-kwong appeared in Kowloon City Court, charged with murder after his wheelchair-bound mother drowned when they both fell in the sea. Ng, 50, allegedly threw himself and his blind, ailing mother Lai Wai-ching, 83, off the Kowloon City waterfront on Wednesday. Police said they found a note at the scene from the man saying he had wanted to end his mother's suffering. His case was adjourned until September 9.
