We've seen model Amanda Strang work the camera, but only a privileged few have had the chance to sample her work from the kitchen. For the past two years, Strang has taken up cooking - mainly gourmet recipes - as her hobby, but this summer plans to take the whole thing very seriously. How serious? We're talking about Le Cordon Bleu, Paris, serious. Leaving this Sunday for three weeks, Strang will take a patisserie course, learning from the top pastry chefs in the world. 'I entertain a lot and love to make little desserts,' says Strang. 'My mother cooked, but she mainly cooked Chinese and was intimidated by dessert recipes.' Though she is going to the fashion centre of the world, Strang won't be stuffing her suitcase with designer outfits as she is required to wear a chef's uniform, complete with a little hat (not a big one, she tells us, because the bigger the hat, the better the chef). Strang doesn't intend turning her hobby into a career, although she tells CitySeen she'd love to have her own patisserie shop one day when she's settled down and the kids are at school. And for those of you wondering if the slim model eats anything she cooks, she does indeed eat EVERYTHING, and a lot at that.
